Zune_HDOfficially unconfirmed news that the price of the Microsoft’s new 16 GB Zune HD will be between $249 and $289 has been circling the internet for some time now. The source of this information is an alleged software engineer of the product. The person, claiming to be working for Microsoft, also shared that Zune HD will have a 64GB version as well as the already advertised 16 GB and 32 GB ones.

The biggest question surrounding the Zune HD launch in September is: will it be able to take over the portable multimedia devices market? Its major rival the iPod touch has the strongest positions ever. The speculated higher price of the Microsoft model compared to the 16 GB Apple gadget might create two completely different effects. Consumers might decide it is too costly, especially in the mid of a world economic crises. But the most likely outcome is that new technology fans will rush to the stores to get the Zune HD.

Microsoft promises the best portable multimedia player with the fastest internet connection ever. The Zune HD is expected to be able to play videos with an amazingly good quality thanks to its innovative OLED screen, which no other product has. The built in HD Radio receiver will take the pleasure of listening to music to a whole new level. The dedicated gamers will also be surprised with the ultimate entertainment experience of the gadget, sources reveal. There is not much information about the Zune HD internet browser, but it is supposed to be in tone with the other miraculous features of the portable device.

All in all, it looks like the Microsoft’s pocket product is going to blow away the competition in the face of the iPod touch. We will soon be able to witness that battle of giants for gaining our favor. Let the best product win.
