New device disables cell phones while driving!

Posted on December 26, 2008 by admin Under Technology · 2 Comments

A new device called Key2SafeDriving disables your cell phone when your key is in “driving mode”. The key goes into “driving mode” when the teen driver slides out the key or by pushing a button that will release it. The car key is enclosed into a device that has bluetooth and RFID (radio-frequency identification) technologies.

When “driving mode” is activated, the teen driver’s cell phone is disabled and will not be able to text or call anyone except for calling 911 or other phone numbers approved by their parents. If someone calls or texts your while your driving, the cell phone will reply with a message saying “I am driving. I will call you when I arrive at my destination.”
