Actually it’s the new EA-18G Growler. What did I just say? Well take a peek at this picture and tell me what this looks like? At first I thought it was some kind of super secret jet fighter but then I realized that it really is something similar to the F-18. The EA-18G Growler was designed to prevent all airborne attacks of electronic nature.
The moment the EA-18 G will complete its current phase, that of testing, it is going to replace the current EA-6B Prowler. Not only it is larger than the Prowler with two engines, F414 – GE – 400, but it is also faster and more powerful with a total thrust of 44,000 pounds.
Its mission is to detect and jam any enemy networks, while being up in the air. It is supposed to achieve this task with the help of a lot of programs and systems that have been installed on the wingtip pods. Also, the plane has nine other stations with weapons designed for reaching its target accurately. These stations all together must make sure that the target is reached on time, they also have to jam still and mobile targets and take measures in cutting all communication.
Apart from accurately jamming all WI-FI networks, the jet is also capable of destroying the target by making use of missiles that are radio-linked to the target. So, all you bad guys out there BEWARE!
