solar-powered-phone-from-samsung-front.jpgPlenty of the environment-loving hippies or rather the “Green Gadget” fans have been waiting on standby for the top of all green gadgets for quite some time now: the solar-powered mobile phone. Finally, Samsung seems to have kept up to this promise by bringing out the brand new fantastic Blue Earth phone. With a gorgeous yet envious green, this is a beautiful touch phone which sports a full solar panel on the back. The panel can actually satisfactorily generate sufficient power to get the phone charged up. And yes – the phone is very pocket-friendly!

On top of this solar power phone release, Samsung has gotten ahead of things to actually try to achieve what Samsung hopes to be the greatest phone to rule the market. This phone is not made up of any of the toxic substances, brominated flame retardants, phthalates and beryllium. Instead the body is made out of water bottles which have been recycled! What more the charger is environment-friendly too and also meets standards and ratings related to energy efficiency during the standby. If it is solar powered, why the charger?

While the device is supposed to be energy efficient with a novel user interface targeted at easing out the activation of the energy saving mode of the phone. Further, it also contains a CO@ emissions calculator, pedometer. In addition to this Samsung is looking to do minimal packaging which is totally made out of recycled paper.

The gauntlet is clearly being thrown out to all phone manufacturers and we are keeping our fingers crossed to see the solar cells all throughout the remaining line.
