If you’re wondering what the future holds for us in the field of mobile phones, then you should take a look at the following concepts developed by Nokia. In collaboration with Industrial Design students from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, Nokia released futuristic designs that we might come across in 2015. Take a look at the future.
And the number one is…
Daniel Meyer came up with the Winner which enables the user to carry numerous pictures and videos of family members and friends, as well as allowing video conferences and normal calls. The device is shaped as a picture frame and it makes the user feel more at ease with the device and also it grants the possibility of being close to the loved ones wherever the owner may be, at work or at home.

A phone to represent you
Will Gurley designed the all personal unique mobile phone shaped however you want it. The phone allows you to open its transparent case and introduce different personal attachments that will be available on the market, so that there will probably not be two phones alike. Apart from the attachments you could also introduce anything you want inside the case so that the phone represents you better.

Me and my Gang
Jack Godfrey Wood is one of the students that took part in this project and he managed to develop quite a unique concept. All the family members and friends will be represented by small different shaped beads. These beads will be able to recognize the number of the person you want to call and you will only have to press the bead for the connection to be set. All the beads allocated to all the people you know can be put together in the shape of a necklace. The other accessories are a wireless earpiece and also a ring that has an incorporated microphone.

Get in touch with your senses
Another concept was presented by Kimberly Hu is based on multiple senses such as sight, smell, hearing and last but not least touch. The oddest idea of them all is that the phone can transmit and also emit smell (I wonder how is this is possible). Also, it picks up colors and light from the user’s environment and it transmits it to the interlocutor, with the condition that he also possesses this technology.
To all the bloggers out there
Hannah Nuttal is one of the designers that took into account the needs of an increasing population, that of the blogging community. The phone is in fact a device that enables more advanced, faster and easier blogging. Arranged into four layers it allows the user to make use of many functions and it can also be treated as a photo and video album. The images stored in the phone can be later posted on the blog and tagged.
Regenerate
Nicola Reed understood that people need to make economies and generally think “green”. The phone will gather information on the amount of used gas and electricity consumed, on what you buy and the amount of trash you generate and where you dispose of it. In order to motivate you to be friendly with the environment, if you obey certain rules and if you are one of those people that act green you will earn free text messages and calls.
Oldies but goldies
Sung-Joo Kim realized that all people sooner or later will change their old phone for a newer version and he was thinking where the old ones would go, considering that most of them would still work very well. That is why he came up with an afterlife program for the oldies by introducing them in a CCTV network with the use of the camera installed on the phone.
Let’s be friends
Ik-Soo Shin managed to create a concept that invites you to be friends with it. The phone aims at being user friendly and tries to establish an emotional and personal relationship, in other words it wants to be friend with you. According to the designer, the phone will benefit of an advanced Artificial Intelligence technology that will allow it to express the owner’s feelings, such as happiness or anger. The phone is so smart that it will recognize his friend’s voice and will interact with him.
