BlackBerry Storm Gets WiFi And More!
BlackBerry Research and development is working on a new touchscreen phone called as the BackBerry Storm, which can be expected to be released in September, according to the sources. The new phone is equipped with the WiFi system that is also considered as an added advantage to its feature.
SlashGear depending on one of its most important resource added that the new BlackBerry Storm 2 with its WiFi system is considered to be much better consumer device as compared to its earlier version. The earlier version lacking the WiFi system can also be considered as one of its drawbacks that hindered its success apart from its touch screen and advanced software.
There has not been much details provided of the new BlackBerry Storm apart from the talks of its launch in September. But if RIM is planning to launch the new BlackBerry Storm by the September, that would leave the current version of the BlackBerry only 10 months old and out of the market. So the new version would follow the older version before a time period of one year, as even Apple follows the principle of launching the new product only after one year of the success of the older version.
The addition of the new WiFi system does not surprise anyone as without it, BlackBerry Storm had no other rivals except for Apple’s iPhone 3G. Moreover, one can still continue with the arguments that the Verizon pulled away the WiFi system to let BlackBerry Storm test the paid carrier services.
A number of other sources like the Boy Genius site reports that BlackBerry Storm shall be equipped with a new type of screen which is much improved than the older version the screen is touch sensitive and equipped with a new 5-megapixel camera.
RIM has also launched a new BlackBerry AppWorld at the year beginning in response to the iPhone, something that BlackBerry was lagging behind that Apple. However the price of the BlackBerry could be its disadvantage.
