toyota_logoNew Toyota Supra models have not been released on the market since 2002. The fans of these sophisticated vehicles are probably very discouraged and disappointed with their favorite brand and its makers. However, good new has finally come for those that are patient and dedicated. Toyota is expected to offer customers a new Supra model, equipped with a Hybrid system, in 2011. It seems that the company is on the run to provide its present (and future) admirers with innovative successors – Toyota is said to be working on 086A as well.

It is rumored that the new Hybrid Supra will have the ultimate modernistic design to please car fanatics around the world. As the finishing touches of this part of the manufacturing process are made, we are told. The developments made are expected to be tested in real market conditions in 2009. Toyota is probably going to release a mule by the end of the year to catch the mood of customers.

The technical modifications and features of the 2011 Supra are not yet officially announced. What we know with the most certainty is that the new model will be based on the FT-HS Hybrid Sports, whose market premier was in 2007. The engine is expected to be taken from the the Lexus 450H’s 3.5l V6 model. The vehicle will be equipped with Toyota’s most recent Crown Hybrid system of the company. This guarantees the supply of 400 hp to the rear wheels.

Toyota is most probably preparing to surprise even those truly addicted to genuine sports cars. If you are not thrilled with the “go green” idea, you can turn your attention directly to the anticipated new Supra lacking the hybrid system. The Sports Supra market debut is also going to be in 2011, we are told. We can admire its features in 2009, however, as it will be presented in the Tokyo Motor Show. The most accurate price estimates are between three to four million yen.
