mercedes_benz_s550The new Mercedes-Benz E-class model will warm the heart of every car fan. The dedicated admirers of the German brand are finally welcoming amore sophisticated model than the Mercedes-Benz S550. Apart from being equipped with all the S550’s best features, it also has an innovatively designed Attention Assist system that will prevent drivers from falling asleep when being behind the wheel. This is the perfect safety solution for longer car trips and for the busy, not getting enough sleep, drivers. The similar system, accommodated into the Volvo S80, has already been tested and proved extremely accurate and successful.

Imagine the how comfortable you will feel on the driver’s seat of the new E-class model thanks to its adaptive cruise control. The night vision and blind-spot detection features add superbly to the control of the machine and facilitate the person behind the wheel even in extreme situations. No matter the type of route and the quality of the road gravel, the new Mercedes-Benz will take you anywhere you desire.

The Attention Assist, though, takes the experience to a whole new level. It is designed to “sense” if the driver is falling asleep through monitoring the type and power of pressure and movement applied to the steering-wheel. The system can adequately tell whether the driver is tired and starting to loose control. His/her input to the wheel when dozy is of a floating nature and then followed by sharp movements to correct it.

When the Mercedes-Benz Attention Assist detects drowsiness, the driver is immediately warned by an alarming tone and a coffee cup is being “served” on the lighted speedometer display. On such occasions the refreshment stop is a must. Hopes are that in the future, when the driver starts snoozing, the system will be able to take over his/her job automatically and safely carry the passengers to their destination.
