That’s right; 1,000 mph is the speed the fastest car in the world can attain. The Bloodhound is a supersonic car designed by the British and it was first revealed to the public in London. The car has been scheduled for another record-breaking ride in 2011. The Bloodhound is a land rocket, measuring over 42 feet of titanium and carbon fiber and with an expected on board speed of more that Mach 1.4 it would be faster than any bullet while rushing through the desert.
The speed of over 1,000 mph is expected to be attained by using a combination of two powerful jet and rocket engines offering 47,000 lb of thrust: the Eurojet EJ200 and a Falcon hybrid. This combination will propel the $16.2 million Bloodhound to an amazing speed of 1050mph in just 40 seconds.
It has been settled that the Bloodhound will be driven by Andy Greene, mathematician, fighter pilot and last but not least record-breaking rocket driver and according to his statements going with 1050mph will be quite uncomfortable. Andy, we’ll take your word on that!
